Summary The duty location for this position is Outdoor Recreation located in Baumholder, Germany. Responsibilities Develops, manages, maintains, plans and administers outdoor recreation activities programs to support eligible members within the garrison footprint. Schedules and publicizes outdoor recreation activities throughout the garrison footprint, providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community and mission unit interests and needs. Develops agreements and contracts with host nation and local agencies to facilitate program execution Recommends new programs that are cost effective and ensures that program emphasis is on those activities most appropriate to the interests of the population served. Provides a full range of supervisory functions to assigned staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications One (1) year of specialized experience at a level that equipped the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required for successful performance, to include: 1. Experience in the planning and delivery of outdoor recreation programs to a large, diverse community. 2. Experience in developing or assisting with program budget, providing recreation facility/equipment maintenance, and instructing program participants in the techniques of various recreation activities. 3. Leadership experience gained through supervising or mentoring lower-level staff. Highly Qualified Criteria: - Extensive experience (5 years) in designing and delivering outdoor recreation programs for diverse military communities. - Demonstrated proficiency in developing, managing, and balancing multiple recreation program budgets. - Proven leadership experience (3 years) in supervising and mentoring lower-level staff. - Experience (3 years) in overseeing the maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment specific to ski and snowboard maintenance. - Demonstrated proficiency in instructing various recreation activities to include: - Hunting: Safety, techniques, and regulations within Germany and Europe. - Skiing: Basic to advanced techniques and safety. - Other outdoor activities: Hiking, camping, wildlife education, etc. - Experience (2years) in ammo purchase and inventory procedures, as well as ammo storage regulations to include all relevant laws, regulations, best practices and safety protocols. - Experience with the Warrior Adventure Quest program specific to training and funding procedures.
