As Contract Manager - Facilities & Engineering you are part of the Global Procurement in the Risk, Contracts & Compliance team Direct Materials and Facilities & Engineering (DM&FE) Contracts group. You will report directly to the Procurement Contracts Functional Lead (DM and F&E) and focus on supporting Third-Party Risk Management processes including contract drafting and negotiations. You will support our team in Mannheim and in Basel in the following exciting challenges: The focus of the work is on supporting local and global procurement and business partners in contract negotiations and contract preparation. This includes, but is not limited to, advising business partners and influencing the various business partners in relation to legal or compliance issues as well as identifying specific risks. You are drafting the contractual terms based on strategy discussions, business partner input and organizational needs and expectations. You have the ability to independently handle contractual clauses and legal issues. You put this knowledge in the contract design and development until the finalization of the contract. You will be supported by the legal department. You ensure service delivery and contribute to optimizing the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the service level as part of a continuous improvement process. You work closely with procurement, business partners, and subject matter experts, you can work out solutions to problems and ensure that their strategies are reflected in the contracts. You have a proven track record of general contract procedures and advise business partners with important contract contents and ensure that they are reflected in the contracts. If required, you take over the (sub) project management in subject-specific projects. Who you are The basis for your success in this versatile area of responsibility is a successfully completed study with a legal and/or technical focus or an equivalent university degree (Master of Laws / Bachelor of Laws / Master of Business Laws / Diploma in Engineering). In addition: You have legal expertise in contract drafting and are able to draft complex contractual contracts and terms on your own. You have previous experience in contract management and Facilities and Engineering projects and ideally have experience in the pharmaceutical industry. You have already successfully demonstrated your professional competence in complex contract negotiation and contract structuring in your professional practice as well as in risk management areas. Knowledge of German construction law would be a great advantage. Based on your strong communication skills and negotiation skills, you will be able to communicate in a business-oriented and targeted manner with internal and external partners at all levels of the hierarchy. You have assertiveness and act goal-oriented. Furthermore, you have previous experience in project cooperation and project management in international teams.
