Head of Sales

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a growing toy company, on the search for Head of Sales. This is a permanent role based in Baden-Württemberg.
As the Head of Sales, you will lead their sales efforts in Germany. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key accounts, and developing sales strategies that align with the company’s objectives. This role requires a proven sales leader with a deep understanding of the toy or consumer goods industry and a strong track record of managing and expanding sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and achieve sales targets across various channels.
* Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
* Oversee and build strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, channels, and partnerships, to expand the company’s footprint in Germany and beyond.
* Monitor sales performance, analyse sales data, and adjust strategies to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
* Develop and manage the sales budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to maximise ROI.
* Provide accurate sales forecasts and regular performance reports to senior management, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
* Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure sales strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
* Lead negotiations for major deals and contracts, ensuring terms are favorable and aligned with company goals.
What are we looking for?
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in the toy or consumer goods industry is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and leading sales teams to exceed goals in a competitive market.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
* Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that drive growth and profitability.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both German and English, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
* A deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Familiarity with the German market and cultural nuances, with the ability to tailor sales strategies accordingly.
* Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
