Director (m,f,d,) Strategic Product Management
As the Director of Strategic Product Management, you will drive a cohesive product portfolio strategy across our business, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market demands. Your role will involve defining and executing product roadmaps, leading cross-functional teams from ideation to market launch. You'll champion customer and sales perspectives, support business case development, and drive product differentiation in global markets. We are seeking a visionary leader with technical acumen and a proven record of managing complex product lines in instrumentation, controls, and vision systems.
The Director (m,f,d) Strategic Product Manager will:
* Lead the definition and advocacy of new products, including market analysis, competitor assessment, and team leadership to determine product requirements.
* Architect and articulate a strategic product roadmap, supported by data-driven decision-making.
* Drive the strategic direction and continuous enhancement of the Product and Technology Road Maps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
* Manage market activities for product launches and updates, ensuring they align with strategic objectives.
* Provide oversight for the NPI process, maintaining robust systems for requirement management, sales and marketing support and impact assessment.
* Provide guidance to Product Managers and oversee the Product Life Cycle process, ensuring clear direction throughout all development phases.
* Evaluate requests for modified standard products, analyzing technical and financial feasibility to ensure return on investment.
* Offer support in resolving post-release product issues, ensuring both technical performance and financial success.
* Provide marketing application support, including research, application notes, and collaboration with sales teams.
* Analyze product performance metrics and develop pricing strategies based on market impact, sales forecasts, and competitive factors.
* Engage with customers to gather insights, refine product offerings, and align with market demands.
* Build and maintain relationships with key customers and channel partners to capture the “voice of the customer” for new product concepts.
* Lead technical and commercial discussions, leveraging business acumen to enhance customer engagement.
The Director (m,w,d) Strategic Product Manager Position Requires:
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field, also a MBA with a focus on marketing.
* Appropriate experience of experience in technical application, sales, or product management - desired in the heavy vehicle or automotive instrumentation industry.
* Appropriate experience in a product line management role.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and in influential management roles.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
* Ability to travel up to 25%.
* Proficiency in both English and German.
