Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Assistant Vice President (m/f/d) for our Risk Management Department to join our team.
Summary of Role:
The Junior Risk Manager (m/f/d) will assist in developing and managing ESG risk policy frameworks and regulatory impacts to help SMBC EU respond to the evolving climate and ESG risk agenda. This includes managing risks and opportunities from regulatory changes, adapting products and services, and improving transparency and disclosures.
Essentials of the Role:
* Develop and enhance ESG risk policy frameworks and monitor sustainability strategy.
* Collaborate with SMBC EU and EMEA sustainability teams and Group Risk teams globally.
* Assist in preparing materials for governance fora and support regulatory inquiries.
Candidate Requirements:
* Strong understanding of ESG risk management and regulatory impacts.
* Experience in developing risk policy frameworks and sustainability strategies.
* Ability to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders globally.

* Research and analyze sustainability issues to identify areas of risk and opportunity.
* Participate in governance meetings and collaborate with colleagues across EMEA and Tokyo on risk programs and best practices.
