What you will do As Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) Expert at the Kuehne Climate Center (KCC), you will lead analyses and development of a toolset for emissions accounting and quantifying environmental impacts of the operations of supply chains we work on, in particular for Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) pathways. As an in-house expert, you take on a creative and flexible role that allows you to lead your own activities as well as engage with different projects and work areas of the KCC. In addition to technical experience applying LCA methodologies and familiarity with GHG accounting protocols, you bring a strong ability to think critically and constructively about existing LCA frameworks. You also bring unique ideas about how to expand the applicability of LCAs and leverage results to inform business decisions. You will work closely with the Program Leads and other KCC experts, in particular the Mineral Supply Chain Expert, to shape program activities and drive unique and impactful insights for research, advisory, training, and implementation projects. The KCC is a new subsidiary of the Kühne Foundation and its mission is to accelerate climate-compatible development within and through logistics systems. We do this through applied research & thought leadership, project & advisory work, and training & capacity building, with a focus on countries of the Global South.
