Driving dynamics, installation space, costs and efficiency place increased demands on the components and functions of the electric drive and require continuous further development as well as new approaches for its control and regulation. One of these methods is model predictive control, which can be used to control the currents of electric machines. We offer a wide range of tasks for the design of this control method. Your Tasks: Simulative investigations into model-predictive current control of a separately excited synchronous machine Implementation of model-predictive current control of a permanently excited synchronous machine on the test bench Extension of the classical model predictive current control with machine learning methods Necessary Skills: Ongoing studies in mechatronics or electrical engineering, e.g. specializing in measurement, control or automation technology, drive or energy technology and power electronics Sound knowledge of optimization-based (model predictive) control Sound knowledge of the functioning of the electric drive train and/or the control of electric drives Fluency in German (min. C1 level) or very good knowledge of English (min.
