We're seeking a talented and experienced Business Development Team Lead to direct our marketplace strategies, develop our sales, optimize performance across platforms and grow together with our BizDev Team.
Job Description:
As a Business Development Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our team growth and expanding the market reach. You will be responsible for overseeing Mister Sandman’s presence on multiple online marketplaces, including but not limited to Kaufland, Amazon, eBay, and regional platforms. Your primary duties will include:
* Training and mentoring marketplace managers to ensure optimal performance and adherence to best practices.
* Developing and implementing sales strategies tailored to each marketplace and region to maximize revenue and profitability.
* Identifying trends in the overall market and adapting our sales strategies to them.
* Analyzing marketplace performance metrics, and recommending actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of marketplace initiatives, including product listing optimization, pricing strategies, and promotional campaigns.
* Conducting competitor analysis and market research to stay ahead of industry trends and identify new growth opportunities.
* Assisting in capacity planning and resource allocation for business development teams to support company growth objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree could be accepted based on your experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce, with a focus on marketplace management and online sales.
* Managerial experience for at least 6 Months.
* Proven track record of successfully managing multiple online marketplaces and driving sales growth.
* Deep understanding of marketplace dynamics, algorithms, and best practices.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
* Experience with Statistics, especially A/B testing and multivariate testing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and cultures.
* Proficiency in market research tools, analytics platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Fluency in English and proficiency in German, French, or Dutch is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices for online product visibility.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
While not required, the following qualifications and skills would be advantageous:
* Experience with marketplace automation tools and software (e.g., Webbosaurus, Channelenigne).
* Experience with BPMN
* Previous experience in capacity planning and resource management.
* Familiarity with EU e-commerce regulations and compliance requirements.
* Certification in marketplace management or e-commerce strategies (e.g., Amazon Advertising, eBay Marketing).
