The Schools’ Liaison Office is the first point of contact for high school students studying in New Zealand, the team operate out of offices in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin. We visit secondary schools all over New Zealand during Terms 1 and 2 each year to let senior students know about the opportunities for living and learning at Ōtākou. Then we return in Terms 3 and 4 to help students plan their studies. The role/Te mahi As a Liaison Coordinator within the External Engagement Division | Te Ringa Toroa, you will contribute to the effectiveness of the Schools' Liaison team by providing a range of administrative support to the two Wellington based Liaison Officers as well as the wider Liaison team when needed. Working from our central Wellington City office you will effectively and professionally: • Triage emails, manage calendars, booking accommodation and travel, provide front of house reception, manage a schools’ database and be responsible for general office upkeep. • Support our out of office promotional events and compile and courier promotional materials as needed for these events. • Provide some basic financial support such as paying invoices and reconciling monthly transactions. You will thrive on organisation and planning in advance, ensuring our Liaison Officers are able to focus on their busy roles which include significant travel, by being their ‘rock at the home base’. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with Career Advisers in schools as their first point of contact with the office. You will collaborate with two other administrators based in Dunedin and Auckland and will be expected to travel to Dunedin during school holidays for three-day team meetings. Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate\: • Confidence and enjoyment of administration tasks • An excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite and confident computer skills and data bases • Attention to detail and organisation • Ability to work independently and problem solve • A professional and high level of writing and verbal communication skills • A positive and collegial attitude, alongside excellent time management and planning skills • Have a suitable knowledge and understanding of Te Reo Māori me ngā tikanga. The role requires some evening work, and some out-of-town travel when supporting promotional events. Further details/Pūroko This is a permanent, part-time (30 hours) position, located in Wellington. Hours for this role are 30 hours per week, from 9am - 3pm. For short periods of the year that are busier the role may increase to 37.5 hours by negotiation. The salary appointment range for this role has been provisionally evaluated at $61,360 to $65,879, Top of Range $71,150 (pro rata).
