The beVisoneers program
The project you would be working on at The DO School Fellowships is beVisioneers – a global environmental Fellowship which starts with a 12-month hybrid-learning program that equips innovators aged 16 to 28 with the training, expert support and resources to bring their planet-positive projects to life. Upon completing the intensive 12-month program, Fellows continue to receive support to scale their projects and develop their leadership skills.
About the role
We are looking for a well-rounded COO who is looking to create a positive impact through their work. The COO will lead all topics around operational excellence and technological advancements across The DO group. As a key part of this role, the candidate will be the responsible operations leader for beVisioneers, a global Fellowship program for 1500+ ecopreneurs, and will manage the operations team plus the Tech department.
This role requires expertise in operations, process optimization and scaling, and some experience in technology and process automation while bringing critical knowledge to tool selection, implementation, and operational strategy. The COO will work closely with the management and leadership team of the group and beVisioneers to ensure efficiency, scalability, and technological improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Co-create and execute the operationalization of the strategy for beVisioneers with a special focus on technology-driven improvements.
* Develop and manage the Tech department including setting up processes on product management and pipeline prioritization.
* Identify and harmonize scalable processes across the organization.
* Optimize operations through process standardization and automation.
* Own the performance management process (e.g., OKR process).
* Drive strong collaboration across departments to identify areas for continuous improvement and greater operational efficiency.
* Identify and bridge technological knowledge gaps within the organization.
* Ensure data-driven decision-making through effective BI and AI systems.
* Collaborate with leadership to align IT infrastructure with business objectives.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
* Foster relevant stakeholder relationships internally and outside of The DO.
About you
To thrive and grow in this role, you will bring:
* Bachelor’s/Master’s in Business Administration, IT, Data Science, or related field.
* 10+ years of leadership experience in technology-driven operations and process optimization.
* Experience in building and managing a tech team.
* Strategic thinker.
* Proven track record in process optimization, digital transformation, and scaling operations.
* Expertise in AI, BI, IT infrastructure, and digital transformation.
* Experience in managing teams through transformations/change processes.
* Substantial experience in managing teams with diverse international backgrounds.
* Very structured and data-driven way of working; solid financial acumen.
* Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
* Experience in either consulting business, start-ups or foundations a strong plus.
* Fluent in English, proficiency in German is a plus.
* Located in Berlin (or willing to relocate).
