Description Join Amazon's EU Other Hardlines (OHL) Product Family in any one of our EU locations (London, Paris, Milan, Madrid, or Munich) and impact our supply chain across Europe. As a Strategic Supply Chain Manager, you will build an in-depth understanding of Amazon's commercial frameworks, operational processes, and programs. Supported by this knowledge, you will collaborate with our largest vendors to enhance supply chain cooperation and improve the strategic operations setup. The goal is to maximize product availability for our customers while reducing overall costs and time to serve. Key job responsibilities - Optimize key goals through effective program management, including but not limited to product availability, assisting vendors in meeting Amazon's standards, ensuring vendors accept returns, or advocating for Supply Chain Programs to reduce costs. - Leverage data to investigate and deliver improvements in key supply chain metrics. - Identify and develop scalable solutions to key operational challenges, both internal and external with vendors. - Own and manage multiple projects, collaborating across central program teams and category teams to enhance EU OHL supply chain/operations, from development through to delivery. - Collaborate frequently with category teams to contribute to the development of the long-term strategy for category availability and inventory management. A day in the life As you enter one of our Retail offices and grab a first cup of coffee or tea with your colleagues, you begin to look forward to your day. Approximately 40% of your time will be spent working with our most important vendors by aligning with internal partners in vendor management before reaching out to the vendors themselves to discuss improvement opportunities. Another 40% of your time will be dedicated to advancing projects you own or contribute to, creating lasting impact across large cohorts of our vendors. Finally, around 20% of your time will be devoted to personal development and growth. About the team We are a centralized function within the EU Other Hardlines Product Family. As a team, our culture is focused around three main areas: work-life balance and well-being, producing scalable improvements, and creating experts who feel true ownership for their areas of responsibility. Our Strategic Supply Chain Managers, spread across our EU retail locations, own the full vendor-facing supply chain. Improving customer availability remains at the core of the role, with a focus on delivering upside via long-term strategic engagement with our vendor base by defining end-to-end supply chain solutions that optimize the processing, delivery, and receipt of goods. Additionally, they are enhancing the customer experience by leveraging their vendor and business knowledge to support continuous improvement of our inventory management systems and optimizing inputs to these systems. Basic Qualifications - University degree in Business, Supply Chain discipline, or a similar degree with an analytical focus - Multiple years of experience in inventory planning, operations, retail, consulting, and/or finance - Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) and experience in negotiation - Proficient Excel skills Preferred Qualifications - A business-focused way of thinking and a strong, hands-on, results-oriented mentality combined with the ability to work strategically - Highly analytical skill set with an aptitude for figures and data-driven argumentation - Experience in delivering cost-savings through operational improvements in supply-chain or ordering processes - Proactive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve high-level goals in a fast-paced environment - Passionate self-starter, decisive, and able to move with speed to implement ideas Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
