Job Summary: The Marine Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing the electrical installations and maintenance activities in designated areas of marine projects. This role ensures that all electrical systems meet quality standards, adhere to project schedules, and comply with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure updated electrical drawings are available in the work area, and obsolete drawings are removed as necessary.
* Monitor and ensure scheduled inspections and project milestones are met, reviewing schedules at least once a week.
* Daily discussions with the area supervisor and outfitting teams regarding electrical installation issues.
* Coordinate with the TE (Technical Equipment) area supervisor to request materials as needed for ongoing electrical work.
* Conduct all testing and inspections of electrical systems in the assigned area, ensuring accurate report sheets are completed, signed, and submitted.
* Review updated electrical drawings and promptly notify the TE area supervisor of any potential additional work.
* Assign daily tasks to electrical workers based on project requirements and priorities.
* Manage worker schedules, including breaks, lunchtimes, and overall working hours to minimize lost time and maximize productivity.
* Prepare and submit weekly progress reports to the TE area supervisor.
* Collaborate with the TE Senior Supervisor and area supervisor to plan resources (including hours, dates, personnel details, and work areas) at the beginning of each month or as required, updating plans based on workload fluctuations or delays.
* Raise and discuss any potential additional work requirements with relevant stakeholders.
* Attend monthly dashboard meetings with the Project Coordinator to provide updates and insights on project status and electrical work progress.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Marine Electrical Foreman.
* Deep understanding of marine electrical systems, installations, and maintenance procedures.
* Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in marine electrical work.
* Certification in relevant electrical trade or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
* Previous experience in a marine environment or shipbuilding industry.
* Familiarity with project management tools and software.
