Job Description
As a Senior Technical Writer within the Service Documentation Department, you are responsible for the generation of technical and working documentation that will allow our site teams to execute the necessary works for the operation and maintenance of our different offshore wind farms within Vattenfall´s portfolio.
You have some technical knowledge about wind turbine works and a good understanding of the documentation package required for both preventive and corrective maintenance (experience within main component exchange is an advantage).
You are a highly skilled wordsmith that can develop content that distils technical information with ease and clarity, you are capable of creating a clear connection between the different types of documents needed for annual maintenance, various inspections, Corrective works, retrofit etc.
You will receive input from diverse sources and stakeholders (i.e. technical support´s second line specialists, Authorising Engineers, Asset Integrity, Regional Support, HSE, Operations, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), etc.), in order for you to capture this in the relevant documentation, but also to scrutinize and enhance the overall document quality with your own know-how and experience.
Qualifications
The scope of a senior technical writer:
A Senior Technical Writer might be required to travel offshore to gather directly lessons learnt from the technicians executing the works offshore.
Responsibilities
* Previous experience in documentation preparation for offshore wind or offshore construction;
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation that meets Vattenfall´s standards;
* Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience;
* Synthesize complex information into accessible, clear and concise output documentation to be used during operations;
* Follow agreed processes and flows for the generation, review and approval of deliverables;
* Seek feedback and input where required from second line support and engineering (technical authorities), in order to elevate documentation quality and to seek the most ¨fit-for-purpose¨ documentation for sites;
* Evaluate current documentation and develop innovative approaches for improvement.
* Perform offshore trials on documentation, supporting sites. Gather direct feedback from the end users of documentation and amend deliverables as necessary from an HSE and operational perspective.
Your profile / who are you?
- Technical background (civil engineer, marine engineer, mechanical engineer, etc.);
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry is desired, possibly working as a Technician;
- Proven track record in similar role working on/with electrical/mechanical/hydraulic systems;
- Well experienced with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Excellent in written and spoken English
- Technically savvy/knowledgeable in the onshore/offshore renewables, Operation or Construction with at least 2 years’ experience in one of these areas is desired;
- Good communicator, structured and organized;
- Able to work with stakeholders and act as Subject Matter Expert on Projects
- Well developed social emotional behavior;
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics;
- Knowledge of or worked with WTSR is an advantage but not mandatory
