In this role you will be responsible for global project and plant/divisional purchasing of all production materials. Here you coordinate the purchasing projects and material availability across all locations and projects. Leading an international team of several project and operational buyers as well as the continuous optimisation of ordering processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Resource management and development of project purchasing for support as well compliance with customer projects
2. Ensuring the early involvement of purchasing in the phase of Customer acquisition/offering
3. Consolidation, coordination and monitoring of global customer projects, deriving from customer projects to components/suppliers - interface to commodity purchasing
4. Ensuring transparency and project success
5. Definition and management of steering committees and project structures for purchasing and escalation the topics for finding a solution
6. Ensuring the purchasing strategies in the project
7. Ensuring production in cooperation with the local/factory purchasing teams
8. Technical and disciplinary management of the local/plant purchasing teams
9. Monitoring and optimisation of the service level in relation to our internal customers
10. Cross-site process and system optimisation
11. Expediting and escalation management
Qualifications:
1. Completed technical or business studies, preferably in mechanical engineering or a comparable industry
2. 8-10 years of experience in project purchasing and/or operational purchasing, ideally mechanical engineering
3. At least 5 years of relevant management and leadership experience in international teams
4. Strong project management skills
5. Experience in technical and disciplinary leadership of interdisciplinary teams
6. Very good technical understanding and analytical and conceptual strengths
7. Business fluent English, possibly a second foreign language is an advantage
8. Extensive knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of SAP MM
9. Willingness to travel (10-15%)
