The Payroll and Total Rewards Analyst is the subject matter expert for payroll and benefits matters for assigned EU locations and supports regional HR partners. Additionally, the Payroll and TR Analyst assists in the implementation of compensation, benefits, and payroll programs across the EU region. The Payroll and Total Rewards Analyst (m/f/d) will also support the Regional Payroll & TR Leader (m/f/d) with queries from external authorities, internal/external auditors (m/f/d), and departments outside of HR.
What you’ll do:
EU Payroll:
* Support the execution of monthly payrolls and ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing.
* Serve as a point of contact for HRIS and payroll matters within the EU.
* Assist HR Solutions Analysts (m/f/d) in payroll reconciliation and collaborate with the finance team to resolve booking discrepancies.
* Represent HR Solutions Analysts (m/f/d) during their absence.
* Assist with inquiries related to regular audits (e.g., IATF, ISO9000, K-SOX) and government inspections.
* Help with process documentation and the annual review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Support local negotiations related to payroll topics.
* Contribute ideas to improve programs, policies, and payroll processes to enhance efficiency.
* Work with the HRIS team and payroll service providers to ensure interfaces work as expected.
* Collaborate with the HRIS team to review and implement system updates in Workday and other systems impacting payroll.
EU Total Rewards:
* Serve as the first point of contact and subject matter expert for the company pension plan at the Leverkusen site, as well as other EU benefits, ensuring proper administration and execution.
* Assist in the design and implementation of regional benefits.
* Support the regional roll-out of benefits.
* Help create presentation materials for approval of new or modified benefits.
* Assist the Total Rewards team in developing communications related to compensation and benefits.
* Conduct benchmark surveys and advise regional HR partners based on Total Rewards strategies and practices.
* Contribute ideas to improve programs, policies, and the administration of compensation and benefits processes to drive efficiency.
* Assist with regular audits of Total Rewards processes.
* Support process documentation and the annual review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Create and execute recurring or ad-hoc reports and analyses.
* Support the finance department during the annual budgeting process (salary planning, AOP).
* Assist with other regional Total Rewards requirements.
Requirements
* University degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources and experience in payroll processing; alternatively, a certified payroll accountant or tax specialist with at least 5 years of professional experience in payroll.
* Solid expertise in time management programs.
* Strong knowledge of social security and payroll tax laws.
* High analytical skills and results-oriented mindset.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment.
* Creative thinking and ability to support regional projects.
* Ability to hold oneself and others accountable.
* Experience with payroll systems, HR applications, and platforms.
* Advanced MS Office skills (mainly Excel and PowerPoint).
* Fluent in German and very good English skills.
Preferred:
* Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources and experience in payroll.
* Experience with shift allowances.
* Experience and process knowledge in international HR and payroll functions.
* Experience with collective agreements and overseeing company pension plans.
* Experience with Workday.
