Job Description
As a Product Stewardship & Hazard Profiling Expert, you will have the unique opportunity to be the subject matter expert for hazard profiling, toxicology, risk assessment and Product Stewardship.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Be an expert at Bluesign for hazard profiling, toxicology, risk assessment and Product Stewardship
2. Support the technical product development of tools related to the bluesign chemical assessment especially hazard profiling
3. Conduct hazard profiles for chemical products and train bluesign chemical assessors
4. Strongly support data maintenance in the bluesign substance database (bluesign NAVIGATOR)
5. Support the revision process of BSSL, BSBL, RSL, testing matrix and related items
6. Support the monitoring of regulatory updates and inform on regulatory news via the ACADEMY news platform
7. Represent bluesign in expert groups and on selected events as needed
8. Be involved in regulatory working groups as needed
9. Provide bluesign ACADEMY services training/education, consulting, knowledge papers, etc.
10. Help manage the bluesign ACADEMY helpdesk for bluesign SYSTEM PARTNERS
11. Deliver industry relevant data and background documents that support and facilitate realization of company’s objectives
12. Predict toxicological and ecotoxicological data by read-across and modeling
13. Provide scientific expertise, research, data collection, background information and new ideas for existing and new fields of operation
Qualifications
Essentials
14. Master degree in toxicology/chemistry/chemical engineering with ideally 10 + years of industry experience
15. Profound knowledge of classification of chemicals according to the GHS
16. Profound knowledge in chemical and risk hazard assessment (based on available toxicological and ecotoxicological data)
17. Profound knowledge in chemicals regulations such as REACh, California Proposition 65, Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR), Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)
18. Experience in QSAR (Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship) is an advantage
19. Profound knowledge in the fields of environment, textile, consumer safety and chemistry
20. Ideally profound knowledge of the textile supply chain
21. Good knowledge of MS Office (especially excel)
