PhD Position in Supramolecular Chemistry
The University of Siegen is offering a part-time researcher position in the field of supramolecular chemistry, housed within the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology. This role is designed to support the candidate’s doctoral studies and is limited to a period of three years.

Minimum Requirements:
* An above-average academic degree (Master or equivalent) in Chemistry
* A Master’s thesis in the field of supramolecular chemistry is advantageous, particularly with aspects of organic synthesis and coordination chemistry
* Experience with the synthesis of organic ligands, coordination complexes, and cage compounds
* Proficiency in the characterization of supramolecular structures using spectroscopy techniques (e.g., diamagnetic and paramagnetic NMR, UV/vis) and photochemistry
* Strong knowledge of English; knowledge of German is advantageous
* Participation in scientific exchanges (e.g., conferences) and/or publications is desirable
* Teaching experience in organic chemistry is an advantage
Job Description:
* Conduct research in the field of supramolecular chemistry aiming for a doctorate
* Perform independent research and practical laboratory work, including the synthesis of organic ligands and investigating the self-organization of supramolecular structures
* Collaborate with other scientists in both national and international contexts
* Participate in preparing and editing publications and progress reports
* Teach organic chemistry, including supervising Bachelor’s and Master’s research projects
* Engage in research group tasks
