To strengthen their global operations, they are seeking a visionary Director of Global Supply Chain to join their team in Cologne.
Role Overview:
The Director of Global Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing and optimising end-to-end supply chain operations on a global scale. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability while aligning supply chain strategies with the organisation’s overarching business goals. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of the FMCG industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Global Supply Chain Strategy:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive global supply chain strategy that aligns with business objectives.
* Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements to gain a competitive edge in the FMCG market.
* Operations & Optimisation:
* Oversee procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution functions globally.
* Drive the adoption of best practices, technologies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
* Lead initiatives to streamline and digitise supply chain processes while ensuring scalability.
* Stakeholder Management:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure alignment of supply chain operations with business objectives.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and key partners to foster collaboration and mutual success.
* Sustainability:
* Champion sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and corporate responsibility standards.
* Optimise transportation and logistics to reduce carbon footprint.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
* Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and tools required to meet organisational goals.
* Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, ensuring continuity and resilience during disruptions.
* Monitor market trends, geopolitical developments, and economic factors that could impact supply chain operations.
Key Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
* Proven experience in a senior supply chain leadership role within the FMCG sector, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
* Deep knowledge of global supply chain operations, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
* Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
* Demonstrated expertise in implementing digital supply chain solutions and leveraging data for decision-making.
* Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading diverse and cross-cultural teams.
* Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
* Strong understanding of sustainability practices within the supply chain.
