About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager/Director, Supply Chain & Purchasing (Title depending on seniority) to join our growing team in Germany. Initially an individual contributor, this role will evolve into a team leadership position as the organization scales. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in the global automotive supply chain, strong negotiation and purchasing skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-demand startup environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Purchasing & Supplier Management Lead sourcing, negotiations, and contracting with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets. Develop strategic supplier partnerships to align with business goals, ensuring supply chain robustness for project execution. 2. Global Supply Chain Leadership Drive supply chain planning, ensuring alignment with EU OEM project timelines and requirements. Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions, especially within global sourcing and logistics. 3. Program Support Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support acquisition and launch of new projects with OEMs. Ensure supply chain readiness for project milestones, including prototyping, pilot builds, and production ramp-ups. 4. Operational Excellence Optimize purchasing and supply chain processes for efficiency and scalability. Manage cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and supplier performance standards. 5. Team Development Transition from an individual contributor to a leadership role, building and mentoring a high-performing supply chain and purchasing team. Establish KPIs and accountability mechanisms to achieve company goals. Qualifications Experience 7-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain and purchasing roles, with a proven track record in the automotive industry. Senior Manager-level experience is preferred. Industry Knowledge Deep familiarity with the global automotive supply chain and the requirements of European OEMs (e.g., VW, Porsche, Mercedes, Renault). Startup Readiness Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment with an entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving attitude. Technical Skills Expertise in contract negotiations, supplier development, and cost analysis. Proficiency in supply chain planning tools and ERP systems. Leadership Potential Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor talent. Education Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Languages Fluency in English is required; German proficiency is highly desirable.
