LOCATION: Augsburg, Germany THE ROLE We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Enterprise Architect (m/f/d) to shape and continuously evolve our IT landscape, driving our overall business strategy through innovative technology solutions. In this role, you will act as a key proponent for modern cloud technologies, plan and execute IT transformation initiatives, and optimize our on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud architectures. As a technology evangelist, you will ensure our organization stays at the forefront of emerging technologies, leveraging them to deliver tangible business value. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Architecture Strategy & Roadmap Define and maintain a comprehensive IT architecture strategy (covering on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments) aligned with business objectives, innovation opportunities, and efficiency goals Develop, maintain, and communicate a long-term architectural roadmap that incorporates new and emerging technologies Cloud & On-Premises Solutions Provide guidance on and implement relevant cloud architectures (public, private, hybrid), collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners Evaluate and select on-premises solutions to enhance or replace existing systems, considering scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness IT Transformation & Project Leadership Plan and manage complex IT transformation projects, from requirements analysis through successful implementation and handover to operations Ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to modern architectural paradigms, including change management and staff training Technology Evangelist Monitor and assess emerging technologies and market trends (e.g., containerization, microservices, serverless, AI/ML), identifying real-world use cases for the business Conduct workshops, trainings, and presentations to inspire both technical teams and stakeholders to adopt new technologies and methodologies Governance & Standards Define and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices (security, compliance, data management) Ensure all solutions comply with high security and regulatory requirements, maintaining alignment with the broader enterprise architecture Stakeholder Management Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and senior management to understand requirements, develop solutions, and align IT strategy with business goals Prepare and present proposals and decision-making documentation to executive leadership, offering strategic guidance at C-level EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (Business) Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field Several years of experience as an (Enterprise) Architect, Lead Architect, or in a similar position Proven track record in delivering large-scale IT transformation projects with both on-premises and cloud environments Technical Expertise In-depth knowledge of architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) Hands-on experience in designing and implementing cloud strategies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar) Strong grasp of modern software architectures (microservices, APIs, container technologies like Docker/Kubernetes, serverless) Solid understanding of IT security, compliance regulations, and data governance Personal Skills Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to persuade and integrate diverse stakeholders Structured, results-oriented, and self-driven working style Passion for innovation and staying current with IT industry trends Strong capability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner Fluency in both written and spoken English (German skills are a plus, if relevant) If you have any questions about the position or application process, our People team is happy to assist.
