Within the Integrated Risk Management division, the department of Risk Analytics & Reporting is responsible for the Group Internal Model of Munich Re. This includes the development of methods and standards for risk modelling and the regular calculation of risk capital figures as well as risk reporting towards multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The advertised position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the risk modelling and risk reporting under Solvency II. The major focus is on the aggregation of risks on Group level and on the holistic reporting of quantitative and qualitative risk topics of the whole Munich Re Group. The Risk Manager reports to the head of the section.
YOUR JOB
1. Developing methods and processes for risk capital assessment on Group level, with emphasis on automated and efficient processes in their implementation
2. Quarterly delivering of risk capital figures of Munich Re Group with special focus on top-level risk aggregation
3. Reviewing and signing-off of decentrally compiled model components, including reviewing of legal entity risk models
4. Supporting the supervisory process, including model validation and the reporting of risk figures under Solvency II
5. Managing of projects with reference to the focal points listed above, and with the involvement of supervisory authorities
6. Compilating a bright variety of presentations and reports for communication of key risk figures, concepts, and results to internal (senior management incl. Group CRO, board and audit committee members) and external stakeholders (mainly auditors and regulators)
YOUR PROFILE
7. University degree in mathematics, physics, economics or in a similar quantitative field
8. On-the-job practical experience in one or more of the following areas: internal models, Solvency II, reserving, pricing, actuarial modelling (insurance or re-insurance, life or non-life) or data analytics.
9. Ability and experience in communicating complex matters in a transparent and clear way, both orally and in writing
10. Knowledge of and passion for digitalizing processes, programming skills will be considered as an advantage
11. Strong analytical and conceptual skills and acting in a confident manner with good negotiation skills
12. Ability to work in a complex environment with a large number of interdisciplinary interfaces
13. Talent to resolve conflicts and demonstrate commitment in an ever-changing environment
14. Fluency in spoken and written English and German
