Hauptaufgaben Work Planning: Plans work assignments for individual, technicians or teams in accordance with maintenance schedules and work orders established priorities or emergencies Plans and determines type and scope of logistic support required from other shops or units. Determines how many work orders can be handled concurrently and which operations should be deferred. Estimates required time for completion of assigned work. Determines priorities on work sequences. Manages the Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) inspection station. Work Direction: Organizes, directs, and assigns work to Team Members to maintain a balanced workload. Explains work order requirements and scope of maintenance work. Furnishes technical instructions on large-scale work, diagrams, and technical equipment. Inspects work sites and shop operations for compliance with instructions, work order requirements, shop rules and installation policies. Solves technical problems to eliminate work delays or to improve quality. Directs the correction of deficiencies. Management and Administration: Discusses with groups of subordinates need for and benefits of the suggestion, cost reduction and safety programs; assists in the preparation of suggestions. Explains application of improved safety devices and informs on safety hazards. Instructs subordinates on application of improved working techniques to achieve higher quality of workmanship and reduce waste of supplies. Controls time and attendance of subordinates to fully utilize work hours. Conducts position reviews and distributes duties accordingly to assure effective utilization of skills and manpower. Analyzes man-hour consumption against time requirements of work orders to determine reasons for loss of production time. Recommends to supervisor methods for improvements. Personnel Management: Participates in the selection process for new hires. Inducts new employees and conducts job training. Trains subordinates in the performance of new tasks or advanced assignments requiring progressively more skills. Monitors leave schedules and may approve leave for a few hours or for emergencies. Participates in the establishment of performance requirements; Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others to supervisor. Reports to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees, and on behavior problems. Provides information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignment, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
