The Deputy Project Director will Manage and ensure the overall direction of a complex project assigned to different Project Managers/Senior Project Managers in charge of portion or phases of the entire scope of work Manage and ensure contractual commitments and financial and operating objectives are met for the assigned project, coordinating with Business Functions, Finance Department and Regional Project Director Is the focal point for all project activities and retains the responsibility for the execution of the Project. He/She represents the Company towards the Client and have to resolve all issues related to the implementation of the Project activities. Defines and control base line scope, program and allowances in line with the change management procedures. Prepares the project execution plan in accordance with the Company Business operating procedures and specific client/contract requirements. Ensures the development and the revision of the Project Execution Plan, monitors the progress of the project phases, in accordance with the scheduled times and the cost and quality estimates and objectives. Defines the policies and processes for clear communications to all parties involved in the project. Manages the preparation and regular update of the project program against which project deliverables are monitored and controlled. Establishes a budget; monitors the costs against the budget, identifies and implements remedial actions in case of overrun; reports to the area \ corporate the results on regular base. Ensures the correct allocation of the resources necessary for carrying on and completing the project. Initiates and reviews engineering design, procurement, manufacturing/ production operations and field activity to ensure compliance with project specifications. Manages all contract negotiations with the Client, including additional work and variations. Support in Subcontracts definition and manages Subcontracts, when applicable Definition of Make or Buy in cooperation with Purchasing department Undertakes any necessary actions with the Client with regards to payments in the event of disputes or anomalous delays. Desiderable Skills/Attitude 8 to 10 years of professional experience as a Project Manager within the oil & gas, energy or Civil sector of a multinational company Approved Project Management qualification (IPMA, PMP, PRINCE or similar) is a plus Previous work experience with EPCI projects Master’s Degree in Engineering or similar related Degrees Fluency in English and German (minimum intermediate level) Strong negotiation skills, team working abilities and excellent leadership and influencing skills Experience gained at working sites Specific knowledge of submarine cable and offshore operations will be considered as a plus Proven track record of delivery and a track record of achieving results through complex teams Effective leadership and communications skills, projecting competence and credibility Structured and methodical, detailed conscious planner Availability to travel frequently Prysmian, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
