Head of Products and Equipment (m / w / d)

Your role includes:
1. Leading the business line disciplinarily and professionally and ensuring the strategic development and expansion of the team.
2. The development of skills in project management for products and equipment, incl. automation, solutions in special machine development. This mostly involves cross-departmental projects including software development, e.g. in the context of “Industry 4.0” with an agile mindset.
3. Ensuring technical solutions that meet all requirements (time, cost, quality) in terms of conception, implementation and integration.
4. Working intensively with relevant stakeholders of project and operations.
5. Ensuring applicable guidelines and processes are adhered to.
6. Ensuring that necessary skills and resources are available at the right time and coordinate and improve collaboration with external partners.
7. Taking responsibility for new and further developments and resource sustainment of Products & Equipment, incl. automation solutions for measuring devices and machines - thereby ensuring that we achieve our project and company goals.
8. Market observation and further development of the product range in the areas of automation and robotics.
9. Initiation and monitoring of R&D projects with the team in all field activities of Testia.
10. Securing appropriate, external funding from customers and/or governmental agencies.
11. Ensuring guided technology development according to the milestone and TRL rules of Testia.
12. Ensuring time, cost and quality on R&D projects.
13. Contributing and creative work within the management team and “direct report” to the Managing Director.
Your profile:
1. Successfully completed studies in mechatronics, electrical engineering or a comparable field.
2. Knowledge of automation and basic welding knowledge, knowledge of bus systems/interfaces are desirable.
3. Experience in NDT, automation and PLC knowledge (Siemens/Simatic S7; B&R Automation Studio; Beckhoff/CoDeSys, WinCC and WinCC flexible).
4. Experience in assessing, analysing, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions.
5. Expertise in project management in complex automation projects, using both classic and agile approaches and with distributed teams and development partners.
6. Experience in leading (funded) R&D projects.
7. Clearly developed leadership skills, demonstrated through experience in leading and controlling teams and/or projects.
8. Independent and structured way of working, strong analytical skills coupled with a high level of reliability.
9. Advanced negotiation skills in English and German. Additional languages like French and/or Spanish are desired, but not mandatory.
