This position combines the exciting areas of Project Management, Quality Management, and Supplier Management. As a Technical Supplier Manager (f/m/d) for Investment Casting and Additive Manufacturing (AM), you are responsible for the development and release of series production at casting and AM suppliers for hot gas components in gas turbines, placing particular emphasis on maintaining quality standards, schedules, and costs to achieve exceptional results in development and component pricing. You actively contribute to the development of new turbine components and are responsible for creating a production-ready product definition. Your expertise is also used to provide technical support for series production at the casting suppliers, ensuring consistently outstanding performance. How You’ll Make an Impact
4. Contribute to decarbonization by increasing the efficiency of our gas turbine components
5. Be part of an international team of casting and AM engineers, responsible for managing product and process qualifications (PPQ) as well as series production of hot gas components made from nickel-based or cobalt-based superalloys at your assigned casting resp. AM suppliers
6. Actively contribute to the technology roadmap and initiate feasibility studies for the implementation of new design features. Integrate insights gained from series production and feasibility studies into Design for Manufacturing guidelines
7. Engage early in product development processes and provide manufacturing feedback to the development department. Participate in product definition reviews as the responsible assessor, estimate development and delivery times for projects, consider feedback from suppliers and supply chains in project planning, align with customer requirements, and take responsibility for estimating and tracking investment budgets within development programs
8. Technical evaluation of components and casting resp. AM suppliers in the supplier selection process, assessment of offers regarding technical aspects and resulting costs to support Make-or-Buy decisions
9. Define appropriate acceleration measures in case of project delays to meet customer requirements, coordinate these measures with affected projects, and apply for the necessary budgets
10. Reduce together with the suppliers non-conformance cost by performing regular supplier scorecard reviews, technical review meetings, perform root cause analyses, analyse 8D reports and implement measures to improve supplier quality
11. Lead projects to reduce costs and delivery times at casting and/or AM suppliers
What You Bring
12. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Foundry Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable discipline
13. Ideally, knowledge of investment casting and/or additive manufacturing and the supplier industry, several years of professional experience (at least 5 years) in investment casting, additive manufacturing or similar manufacturing technologies, project, and supplier management and solid knowledge of current technologies
14. Experience in an international environment and in working with interfaces between R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier Management. Ideally, experience with turbine hot gas parts (blades and vanes) and/or their manufacturing and testing technologies
15. Experience as an engineer in project management, successful leadership of virtual, crossfunctional, and internationally composed teams
16. Fluent English language skills are required. In case German language skills are limited willingness to learn German is required
17. Intercultural competence and willingness to travel (international 25%)
