Amazon's Construction procurement category team is hiring a Senior Category Manager, Construction Professional Services (PS). This role will partner closely with construction stakeholders to define long term procurement strategies to support the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million, multi-year Ops construction projects. The Professional Services category lead covers the design, engineering and supervision requirements delivered alongside the Construction scope. This role will be part of an exciting, fast moving and growing team. The right candidate for this role will be a self-starter with dedication to seeing projects through to the end. You must be able to work independently in a collaborative, creative, ever-changing and ambiguous environment. You will have an eye for detail and determination to standardize processes and turn-over high-quality work. This position involves direct contact with both internal and external stakeholders, and the candidate must have an ability to communicate effectively with business partners at every level, including upper management to inform decision making. This role can be based in Luxembourg, Barcelona or London. Key job responsibilities Manage the construction PS category owning the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million-dollar sites. Identify, develop and deliver long term sourcing strategies, lead key initiatives with cross-functional teams; drive the decision-making process of the category roadmap with senior leadership. Build alignment with internal and external stakeholders to effectively plan and deliver site launches to meet site construction programs. Own the targets and goals identified across the EU Professional Services category scope as well as identifying and delivering incremental process and system improvements Drive professional services sourcing, award, contracting and ongoing support until project delivery, while maintaining commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance; Lead supplier performance management; including improving sustainability & social responsibility; A day in the life You will lead end to end procurement process and activities for construction professional services throughout Europe. You will work with multiple internal and external stakeholders, some of the internal stakeholder include operations, finance, legal, design and engineering, launch and expansion, and safety. You will produce best in class category procurement strategies and present to leadership for approval and lead implementation across Europe, with potential to scale it up globally. You will work on continuous improvement improve efficiency. You will lead projects to create mechanisms to improve current process and come up with innovative solutions to the complex issues. This role can be based in Luxembourg, Barcelona or London. About the team Our team partners closely with Design & Construction, Engineering and Operations teams and support functions to identify, design and develop best-in-class category procurement strategy and procurement process to deliver operational excellency, providing additional revenue to the business through innovation and reducing total costs of ownership within Amazon supply chain.
