Our Position
As a Mechanical Architect, your role is essential in contributing to challenging business cases and technical roadmaps from a mechanical perspective and in a multi-disciplinary context. You collaborate closely with the customer, other Architects, the Project Manager, the Account Manager and the rest of the project team, to ensure alignment and synergy.
Your expertise lies in translating customer needs into specifications, defining the mechanical architecture, budgets, and conceptual designs of (sub)systems. You specify tests and integration requirements to ‘close the V cycle’. Ensuring the quality of the delivered product (design) is also a key responsibility.
In addition, you actively build both internal and external networks, fostering relationships that contribute to the growth and success of the organization. You are at the forefront of introducing new technologies and solutions, driving innovation, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible. You investigate theoretical working principles and apply them practically in the project.
You lead by example and encourage your team of designers and engineers to take ownership of their deliverables.

What makes you a Architect Mechanics is that you take ownership of a larger scope of work and more complex challenges, including stakeholder management and project complexity. You will also take the technical lead of a larger team of engineers and designers in the field of Mechanics.
Your profile
1. A MSc or PhD in Mechanical or Mechatronical Engineering
2. A proven track record in the field of Precision Mechanics within high-tech system and/or equipment design
3. At least 10 years of experience and expertise in the design of mechatronic and precision systems and equipment.
4. A solid theoretical and practical knowledge of technical designs, mechanisms, precision mechanics, Design for Excellence. Have a broad perspective and enjoy pushing the boundaries of your mechanical expertise.
5. You know how your mechanical expertise fits in the large multi-disciplinary context.
6. Excellent analytical skills and levels of abstraction.
7. Skilled in the use of various analysis methods.
8. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
