Höffmann Academic Award for Intercultural Competence 2024
The University of Vechta annually confers the Höffmann Academic Award for Intercultural Competence, sponsored by the Vechta-based travel company Höffmann Reisen GmbH. The award comes with a cash prize of EUR 10,000 .
The aim of the Höffmann Academic Award is to support the endeavours of an outstanding academic by awarding a prize for groundbreaking work on topics of intercultural competence. Such work may focus on the topic from the perspective ofasingle discipline or it may be interdisciplinary in nature.
The management of a university or research institution (not faculty, department or institute) can nominate candidates in the form of proposals. Candidates are not permitted to nominate themselves.
The guidelines on the conferment of the award and other information are published on the website of the University of Vechta ( ).
A panel of judges decides on the conferment of the award. Its decision is final. The academic award will be presented at a public award ceremony at the University of Vechta.
Nominations are to be sent to the academic director of the programme, Prof. Dr. Prof. h.c. Egon Spiegel, via email ( ) by 31 July 2024.
Requirements
Nominations (in English or German) should contain the following:
1. detailed reasons for the proposal
2. two expert opinions, each by qualified university professors
3. a curriculum vitae
4. a list of previous publications
