Role Description The Capital Markets Business Analyst role is responsible for business and functional solution design, technical analysis of FNZ’s Syn platform capabilities, business processes analysis and end to end testing (including supporting client UAT). Team Responsibilities The FNZ Capital Markets Product Management team is responsible for the defining and managing Syn feature sets and configuration, plus supporting the sales team in winning & sizing new projects. Syn is a market-leading post-trade platform, providing middle and back-office processing across multiple markets and asset classes. The team also provides business consulting for existing and new broking, custody and clearing customers in a variety of contexts, including proposition definition, Scope definition, Business transformation, customer training and knowledge transfer, and the definition of bespoke requirements where required for customer Syn solutions. Once business outcomes are understood from FNZ clients, these must be accurately documented and fed into the development team to ensure they are easily understood and precise to deliver the right outcome for our clients. The team also works closely with FNZ’s Technology, Delivery and Support teams to ensure that robust and supportable solutions are delivered into production environments. Specific Role Responsibilities Gather requirements through consultation with broking, clearing and custody customers, industry utilities, and regulators Produce requirements documentation (L2-L3) and assist in solution estimation. This includes user stories, scenarios, user journeys and solution descriptions. Aid in the development of end-to-end product test scenarios and compilation of regression, industry, and sanity test sets leading to quality product outcomes. Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the platform functionality and business processes. Educate and prepare customers (external and internal) on FNZ SynOps platform functionality, including providing product demonstrations. Attend customer workshops when required and input into requirements on a consultative basis. Work closely with Solution Consultants to understand the agreed scope of a change and design solutions that meet the customers business and technical requirements within that defined scope. Author release notes and FNZ Assist pages covering product functionality and improvements. Deliver product training to internal staff and customers Support SynOps implementation through definition of dataloads, migration scripts and migration procedures Identify and document any non-functional requirements related to the functionality. Support the resolution of defects and associated root cause analysis. Have knowledge of the regulatory environment in which the analyst operates. Experience required Preferred Experience Business Analysis experience, preferably in a finance or securities back-office environment Experience in banking, brokerage or custody back-office operations. Good understanding of Clearing House, CSD and Custody processing and messaging API’s (eg DTCC, SWIFT, OCC, T2S). FNZ SynOps platform expertise or experience with competitor platforms.
