CAD Specialist (m/w/d)
Job Description
In this role you have the opportunity to
leads the development and changes in CAD applications in programs/projects or based on change requests from HPM business (Mechanical and Electronical Design Departments). You will join a growing and dynamic Business Process Systems Excellence Team with colleagues collaborating globally.
Your role:
1. Keeping the environment for the Mechanical and Electronic Design Departments running
2. Being the contact for more than 200 users of the CAD systems in sites (from east to West)
China (Shanghai and Shenzhen)
India (mainly Pune, but Hyderabad and home based as well)
Germany (Böblingen, Munich), Netherlands (Einthoven), Sweden (home-based)
Brazil (Varginha)
USA (Andover, Cambridge Crossings, Orlando, Murreysville, Bothell
3. Acceptance testing of new CAD software and deploying it to the customers
4. Implementing parts within the
Library of Xpedition, those parts which really need a 3D representation for interference checking or similar purposes
Library of mechanical parts within the E ngineering D atabase M anagement S system of the ME-CAD suite.
5. Develop additional capabilities for the users when the need arises and the effort is worth doing it.
6. Support of additional tools in terms of license server management for the Mechanical and Electronical Design Departments
7. Keeping the environment stable for the Design Departments, which means that you have to deal with Apache Servers coming bundled with other tools
8. Maintaining a wiki system containing tips and tricks of the trade and help pages for the various tools written by the team
9. Maintaining a MariaDB database which is used for keeping the electronic components together with the preferred parts tables etc.
10. As a part of keeping the environment stable, you will have to participate in the Operating system/software maintenance of the servers used for the CAD environment. Currently those are 4 systems in China, India, Germany, USA.
You are the right fit if:
11. Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or applied sciences or related discipline.
Speaking the language of your mechanical and/or electrical engineering customers help a lot.
12. Experience in some of the areas mentioned above within the Job Description
13. Team player with good communication skills.
14. Being able to embark in new techniques and/or challenges as the environment around is changing
15. Being able to detcting emerging problems and deal with them beforehand instead of fighting fires in the manner of an emergency responder. Trying to be upfront the situation.
