Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
For our Berlin Headquarter (or Strykow, Poland) we are currently looking for a
Market Intelligence Specialist (m/f/d)
Responsibilities:
* Analyze news quickly to uncover and disseminate meaningful insights on market landscape.
* Analyze the impact of new market and competitive developments affecting Corning.
* Support the EMEA MI OCS Lead in ad-hoc MI projects.
* Support maintenance of MI knowledge sharing platform and mobile app. Structure, organize and maintain MI content architecture to maximize customer experience and utility. Scope covers training, marketing campaigns, leveraging usage analytics, troubleshooting, driving collaborative platform to build and exchange rich MI insights.
* Strengthen linkages between the MI Team and COC’s Commercial and Business Intelligence Teams to enhance MI collaboration.
* Maintain and disseminate competitor one-pagers. Collaborate with COC and MI team to chronicle key events and articulate business implications.
* Monitor intelligence sources (e.g. competitors’ web sites) and assist OCS Strategy Team in compiling daily and weekly English-language market intelligence communications.
* Measure usage of these market intelligence communications with quantitative statistics; use to drive continuous improvement.
* Conduct secondary market research to gather relevant information from a variety of sources and integrate into competitive and market intelligence projects.
* Support administrative tasks related to MI newsletters platform (create new MI newsletters, maintain search taxonomy, resolve technical issues); collaborate with external MI software provider; maintain MI Share Point and Box sites/content; maintain MI Team’s e-mail box, distribution lists, etc.
* Conduct comparative analysis for competitors vs. Corning EMEA (e.g. manufacturing costs, product costs, financial analysis).
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance or relevant field required. Master’s degree in Business Intelligence or Business Administration preferred.
* Previous relevant job experience in Market Research, Competitive + Market Intelligence and/or Data Analytics.
* Minimum 2-3 years of work experience, preferably in the telecom industry.
* Strong knowledge of Market Intelligence related processes.
* Good understanding of Corning Optical Communications product portfolio, target markets as well as our competitors and customers' landscape.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken. Polish language skills are a benefit.
* Structured and analytical thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
* Quick learner; persistent, takes initiative, determined, resilient.
* Experience with Power BI and AI desired.
