We are excited to partner with one of our bluechip industrial clients to find a Plant Director to manage an integrated manufacturing plant in East Germany. In an advanced manufacturing environment with modern manufacturing processes, the facility has 150 FTEs, is state-of-the-art, and will require an experienced leader to continue achieving production efficiency and product output.

The Opportunity
As a key member of the global senior leadership team, the Plant Director will be an accomplished senior manufacturing executive with a proven track record of success in leading the manufacturing operations at a specific site within a fast-growing industrial B2B company. Technically experienced and a well-rounded leader, this individual will also be a strategic executive with strong operational capabilities. Focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement, they will thrive in delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all daily plant operations, from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
* Develop and implement processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
* Plan, organize, and direct day-to-day operations to optimize efficiency and exceed customer expectations.
* Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
* Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
* Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
* Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
* Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
* Build a trusting relationship with the workgroup and oversee the recruitment, management, and development of plant staff.
* Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
* Commit to plant safety procedures.
* Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
* Address employee issues or grievances and administer collective bargaining agreements.
* Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Qualification and Experience
* Strong technical background (i.e. engineering, production management or similar education).
* Fluency in German and English.
* Proven work experience as a Plant Manager or Production/Manufacturing Manager.
* In-depth knowledge of production and process management, as well as continuous improvement (CIP).
* Proven managerial experience leading teams of around 150 FTEs.
* Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
* Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
* Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
* Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
* Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
* Excellent strategic mindset with a track record of managing senior executives, while also being able to convince and implement.
* Ability to stretch beyond this role in the future.
* Strong presence and gravitas to operate at a senior level.
