Let's connect : If you want to experience how things are done in the Group Legal Services - Compliance Sanctions Legal team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis (part-time possible), commencing at the earliest possible date as a Corporate Lawyer Sanctions Law.
In this role you will focus on general sanctions law and foreign trade issues as well as suspected cases with regard to embargo and financial sanctions law. In addition, you will keep an eye on the sanctions landscape, characterized by dynamic geopolitical developments. You give advise on new internal sanctions requirements and conduct training sessions for your colleagues at Hannover Re.
You can look forward to:
* Examination, structuring, decision-making and negotiation of sanctions law and foreign trade issues
* Deriving recommendations for action and liaising with specialist departments as well as our local offices
* Monitoring and analyzing the development of international sanctions law provisions
* Drafting contracts conditions and clauses relating to sanctions
* Training employees and developing communication channels to provide sanctions-related information
* Examination of specific suspected cases that may arise in the course of reinsurance initiation or implementation (Case Management)
You come equipped with:
* A completed law degree (First State Examination): We will help you apply for admission as an in-house lawyer as much as we can.
* Ideally, some experience in foreign trade and sanctions law: This could be from working at an insurance company, bank, or international law firm. This role is also suitable for starting your career!
* Fluent in German and English: You should be comfortable with legal terminology and have intercultural skills, ideally gained through time spent abroad.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail: You should be solution-focused and able to explain complex issues in a simple way to people who are not specialists.
