RWE Renewables Europe & Australia GmbH To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent OPEA is RWE's subsidiary, developing O nshore Wind and P V in E urope and A ustralia (OPEA) where BESS can be developed as standalone projects or co-located to PV or onshore wind. As Regional Category Manager for BESS OPEA you are responsible for the procurement of batteries and Power Conversion Systems (PCS) for all RWE projects in Europe and Australia. On the one hand you will define the BESS procurement strategy in line with the overarching Category strategy, on the other, execute the operational implementation in support of OPEA's project pipeline. You will also have the opportunity to learn from a team of experiences Senior Procurement and Senior Category Managers, enabling a quick onboarding and mutual sparring across major categories such as wind turbines, PV modules, inverters or substations. You are part of the team "Regional Category Management PV & BESS OPEA" and will cooperate with various colleagues from different departments along the project value chain. Furthermore you will get the chance to interact with Director and Board level. Your tasks Develop and implement independently the BESS procurement strategy supported by Senior Category Manager, considering the dynamic supply chain situation, regulatory frameworks and RWE's growing BESS pipeline in various geographies Manage the full sourcing process (including market analysis, RFI, RFPs, Negotiations, Contracting, internal Final Investment Decisions and Supplier Awarding) in close collaboration with Senior Category Manager and key stakeholders as well as in line with RWE policies and processes Manage signed contracts, incl. exchange of securities, following up on invoices/payment, production status and delivery, dealing with claims and if needed re-negotiating clauses/contracts Analyse supply chain, cost drivers and price developments and develop strategic partnerships with global suppliers Manage the respective supplier market in terms of opening new and competitive supply channels, development and qualification of suppliers (including global sourcing) Build up close relationship with internal stakeholders across organizational boundaries Collect and plan independently procurement demand for RWE's BESS pipeline in Europe and Australia Serve as the key interface between internal stakeholders (Development, Engineering, etc) and the supplier market environment Your powerful skills Successfully completed university degree in electrical/industrial engineering, business administration/ management, economics or a comparable degree Several years (generally 3-5years) of relevant professional experience in Procurement and/or Project Management within complex, large scale organizations Knowledge of the tendering process, contract negotiations, contract terms for purchasing renewable energy, and warranty provisions Experience in identifying and evaluating commercial contract risks and developing strategies for risk avoidance or control Ability to manage multiple contract packages & stakeholders and lead multidisciplinary teams Affinity for numbers and ability to understand level of fair pricing based on cost estimates Strong communication and negotiation skills Solid knowledge of the energy industry, esp. in the area of BESS/Renewables (Wind/PV) Highly independent, systematic, quality- and goal-oriented approach to work Ability to work under high pressure & in a fast-paced environment while keeping a positive mind-set Team player with hands-on mentality Business fluent English mandatory (speaking and writing), and German is of advantage General willingness to travel internationally Power BI skills [CS1] is an advantage, but not mandatory Benefits you can rely on Flexible working hours Mobile working Dynamic team Challenging projects Wide-ranging group of stakeholder up to Director and Board level Apply with just a few clicks: ad code 89200, application period: 16/02/2025.
