THE ROLE
As the Lead Solutions Consultant (all genders) at Qwist, you will play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring a team of Solutions Consultants, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional technical guidance and support. You will be responsible for managing the team’s activities, driving best practices in customer engagements, and serving as the primary point of escalation for complex issues. In addition to your leadership duties, you will continue to provide direct technical expertise in key customer interactions, particularly in high-stakes situations. This role requires a combination of strong leadership skills, deep technical knowledge, and a strategic approach to customer success.

This position follows a hybrid work model and requires at least two days per week in the office. We have three locations in Germany: one in the beautiful port city of Hamburg, another in the Bavarian capital of Munich, and our headquarters in Berlin. The whole company comes together twice a year to celebrate our successes together.
What you will be doing:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Solutions Consultants, providing guidance and support to help them succeed in their roles.
- Performance Management: Set clear performance goals for the team, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
- Resource Allocation: Oversee the allocation of resources within the team to ensure that customer projects, technical support, and pre-sales activities are adequately staffed and executed efficiently.
Strategic Technical Leadership:
- Technical Escalation: Serve as the primary point of escalation for the team, handling the most complex and high-impact customer issues.
- Strategic Involvement: Participate in strategic customer engagements, especially those involving major accounts or highly complex technical challenges.
- Best Practices: Develop and implement best practices for technical onboarding, support, and pre-sales activities, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across the team.
Technical Onboarding & Implementation:
- Oversight: Oversee the onboarding process for new customers, ensuring that the team delivers smooth and efficient integrations.
- Customer Engagement: Engage directly with key customers during onboarding to ensure they are set up for success and to address any unique challenges that arise.
Technical Support & Issue Resolution:
- Team Support: Provide guidance and assistance to the team in resolving complex technical issues, ensuring timely and effective problem resolution.
- Proactive Monitoring: Lead efforts to proactively monitor and support major customer implementations, identifying potential risks and addressing them before they escalate.
Technical Pre-Sales & Solution Design:
- Pre-Sales Leadership: Collaborate with the sales team to provide high-level technical expertise during pre-sales engagements, particularly for strategic or high-value prospects.
- Custom Solutions: Oversee the design of custom solutions for potential clients, ensuring that all technical aspects are feasible and aligned with customer needs.
- RFP/RFI Oversight: Lead the team in responding to technical sections of RFPs and RFIs, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Account Management and Engineering teams to align technical consulting efforts with broader company objectives.
- Feedback Loop: Facilitate a continuous feedback loop between customers and the product development team, contributing insights to guide future product enhancements.
- Documentation & Training: Ensure the team maintains up-to-date technical documentation and provides comprehensive training resources for both customers and internal teams.
What you bring to the team:
* Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage technical teams, ideally in Solutions Consulting or Pre-Sales.
* Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of SaaS, cloud solutions, APIs, and enterprise IT ecosystems.
* Customer Engagement: Experience handling high-stakes customer interactions, onboarding, and solution design.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop best practices, optimize processes, and align technical solutions with business goals.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in working with Sales, Engineering, and Account Management teams.
* Business fluent in German & English
