Your role
As the Employee Engagement Specialist, you will support employee engagement initiatives at the Barleben Distribution Center and collaborate with international teams to enhance engagement programs. Your responsibilities will include managing and improving local programs, collecting employee feedback directly on the shopfloor, and promoting effective cross-functional partnerships to create a positive work environment.
Your area of responsibility
1. You will represent the Employee Engagement task force at the Barleben Distribution Center and contribute to the broader team’s efforts to align engagement initiatives.
2. Your role will involve supporting local programs to foster a culture of inclusivity and two-way communication, using a variety of communication tools such as screens, flyers, text messages, posters, and in-person meetings.
3. You will oversee current engagement programs and collaborate with local site operations and the People team to help roll out new initiatives. You will also evaluate the effectiveness of these programs via employee roundtables and surveys and identify areas for improvement to ensure they meet the diverse needs of employees.
4. Working directly with employees, you will gather feedback and help identify ways to improve the local workplace culture. You will build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, particularly Operations, to ensure the employee experience is a priority.
5. Additionally, you will collaborate with the local People team to ensure smooth and effective operational processes, and provide support for ad-hoc projects as needed by the People or Operations teams.

11. You are able to self-manage on a day-to-day basis based on your roles and responsibilities without concerns to ask questions and escalate quickly when you need assistance
12. You are bilingual (German and English) or even speak further languages
13. You have 2+ years of work experience in a related field, HR, customer service, and/or coordinator position
14. You have experience in supporting general HR functions (strongly preferred)
15. You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
16. You have a strong customer service focus - hospitality and a contagious positive attitude are key
17. You have exceptional communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
18. You have proficient skills in using Google Apps (i.e., Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets)
19. You have demonstrated the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
