YOUR FUTURE ROLE
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership in managing this dynamic landscape, with support and guidance MEE and Global OEC Leadership.
His/her key responsibilities will be:
1. Provide advice on Compliance matters relating to SAP’s entities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and ensure compliance principles are adhered to in Management decision-making, so that SAP acts in accordance with best-in-class compliance standards;
2. Serve as trusted advisor to Senior Leadership;
3. Administer, prepare, run & follow up on local Compliance Committees;
4. Support the drafting of policies and conduct training on compliance topics including avoidance of bribery and corruption, competition law concerns, handling confidentiality and conflicts of interest, doing business with government customers, fraud in the contracting process, general fraud, etc.;
5. Provide compliance oversight on sales activities: work with business to vet and validate sale, marketing, third-party transactions and presales opportunities, serve as trusted advisor and gatekeeper;
6. Review and analyze Due Diligence for Partners and third parties;
7. Review sponsorships, donations and memberships;
8. Support Compliance Investigations & manage Consequence Management: formulate consequence options with the guidance of Global Compliance leadership, build consensus with relevant HR, Legal, and Business executives, and execute;
9. Serve as Liaison to Global Compliance leadership: receive and respond to the regional Compliance inquiries and complaints, monitor response mechanism, liaise with relevant regional stakeholders;
10. Stay substantively up to date on relevant laws and regulations;
11. Follow up on risk mitigation processes;
12. Track and report compliance issues and KPIs to OEC management on a periodic basis;
13. The position reports to the Regional Compliance Officer MEE and will preferably be based in SAP´s offices in Germany;
14. Occasional international travels might be required.
YOUR PROFILE
15. Multiple years of relevant work experience, especially experience in compliance in an international environment or sales environment
16. Corporate compliance department and/or law or audit firm experience highly desired.
17. Accredited lawyer or other experienced compliance professional (preferably with legal background)
18. Previous experience in the IT industry is preferable.
19. Fluent business and legal English and German language skills
20. Hands-on with extreme attention to detail and written documentation
21. Ability to do in-depth research and to interpret written guidelines and documents
22. Strong grasp of codes of conduct, business ethics policies and current compliance practices
23. Experience handling compliance investigations highly desirable
24. Demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues and ability of risk-based decision making
25. Demonstrated ability to manage senior leadership in dynamic environments
26. Experience in the areas of detection and prevention of fraud or corruption preferred
27. Demonstrated ability to work with international, virtual teams with sensitivity to cultural differences
28. Project Management experience is highly desirable
29. Very good communication and collaboration skills
30. Comfortable in MS office tools and IT business environment

The SAP´s Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) is responsible for developing and operating SAP Compliance programs, including support for the SAP Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related compliance practices and policies. We focus on applicable bribery and corruption laws as well as serious fraud and conflicts of interest.
