Our client is the European company of one of the leading international manufacturers and sellers of premium pet food with a focus on cats and dogs. They continue to be the most popular brand of premium cat food and treats in Japan in the 21st century, delighting cats and dogs around the world.
Our client was founded in Japan in 1805 and has also been present in most continents of the world since 1958 with its pet food division. They are currently expanding their European business from the Düsseldorf headquarters for Europe.
For the continuous growth of our European business, they are looking for a (Senior) Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter/in) Europe (f/m/d) based in Düsseldorf.
In this role with development opportunities, you and your team will be responsible for all general tasks of financial accounting:
* You will be responsible for the preparing (consolidated) monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).
* You will have full responsibility for day-to-day bookkeeping including reconciliation and clarification of accounts, as well as the preparation of tax reports, e.g., monthly preliminary VAT return, EC sales list, Intrastat report.
* You will be responsible for processing and analyzing business transactions and ensuring correct accounting.
* You will work closely with auditors and tax advisors, and support audits and communication with tax authorities and related third parties.
* You will support the future development and digitalization of the accounting process through the in-house of accounting function and beyond.
* You will be a competent point of contact both internally and externally for accounting and financial reporting issues.
* You will work closely with the Accounting and Finance Manager to whom you will report.
* Your position will be rounded off by the opportunity to lead the two team members.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration or a comparable field of study with a focus on finance or controlling, or specialist training with further qualification. Several years of experience (3 years +) in preparing financial statements and tax returns, ideally in an international FMCG environment. Confident use of MS Office, especially Excel Knowledge of SAP Business One is an advantage Fluency in German and English is a prerequisite, other languages are an advantage. Independent and goal-oriented working style with a high degree of initiative and a hands-on mentality. A high degree of accuracy and an analytical way of thinking are amount your strengths. An Open and persuasive personality with strong communication skills, and leadership skills, team spirit and the ability to work together effectively in an international environment. Willingness to be present at the European headquarters in the city of Düsseldorf on a daily basis and occasional travel (up to 5%).
