Job Description: As the Task Leader you will lead a team supporting key engineering analysis and integration of mission critical Command and Control (C2) capabilities for US European Command (USEUCOM) solving today's real-world operational challenges. You will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers impactful analysis and data-driven recommendations in operationally relevant timelines. As a key member of MITRE's USEUCOM team on-site in Stuttgart, Germany, you will collaborate with MITRE teams supporting US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) at Kelley Barracks, and with the theater service components: US Air Forces Europe - Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAF), US Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF), and Naval Forces Europe and Africa (NAVEUR-AF). Qualified candidates will have a strong department of defense background with demonstrated technical experience in advancing joint command and control and mission planning capabilities. Embedded with USEUCOM sponsors on a daily basis, you will work closely across the Command to include operations, intelligence, communications, and strategy/plans to holistically support the command's effort to incrementally implement Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) concepts across multiple current mission areas including kinetic fires, information operations, cyber operations, and electronic warfare. We are looking for leaders with the following demonstrated abilities: Strategic Leadership. Working with the Project Leader and Department Leadership to: - Develop and shape MITRE work, in close collaboration with sponsors, to focus on mission critical outcomes. - Serve as a trusted advisor, developing strong collaborative relationships with senior USEUCOM sponsors, and help sponsors create and execute strategies to achieve their objectives. - Define outcomes aligning sponsor challenges and MITRE competencies and ensure FFRDC appropriate impactful tasks are defined to support critical sponsor outcomes - Manage daily work execution, product delivery, ensuring technical quality, and managing associated financial budgets to ensure successful MITRE impact to USEUCOM operations. - Actively collaborate with other MITRE projects and sponsor activities, to ensure maximum value and impact across MITRE's sponsors. Domain / Technical competence. Demonstrate strong familiarity and skill in one or more of the following areas: Joint command and control (C2) operations, especially joint fires, joint planning and targeting, specifically as applied to non-kinetic or non-lethal effects. Joint non-kinetic operations, including cyberspace operations, joint electro-magnetic spectrum operations (JEMSO), information operations (IO) and/or military information support operations (MISO). Deriving, defining, analyzing, and assessing Joint operational and intelligence requirements. Joint operations and intelligence associated programs of record for intelligence production and collection (CRATE, COLISEUM, UEE, CSRP, MCTs, MIDB/MARS) Experience in working with high ops tempo battle rhythms, time constraints, and competing priorities Interpersonal skills. Operating as part of the project leadership team, provide MITRE team leadership partnering closely with both senior military leaders and action officers to identify operational and engineering challenges, potential solutions, and communicate project goals and impacts clearly and effectively. Collaboration. Work within a team environment and leverage a robust network of MITRE and other professional connections to deliver technically rigorous products. Engage and collaborate with engineers and planners, subject matter experts, international program (foreign military sales) specialists, and defense acquisition professionals. Leverage a pipeline of MITRE technical expertise from the Labs, capabilities from the MITRE Platforms, and transition MITRE R&D into project delivery. Senior Sponsor Experience. Comfortably and respectfully engage with both US and foreign nations' senior military leaders, including General Officers, Flag Officers, and Senior Executive Service (SES) civilians, along with military and civilian staff, as well as commercial executives and managers to provide thought leadership and guide impactful MITRE contributions to sponsor's mission challenges. Flexibility. Ability to modify and alter course as the environment and sponsor priorities shift. Understand the power of reach-back and be an effective conduit to bring MITRE talent forward to execute at the right time. Ability to keep pace with the sponsor's dynamic ops-tempo. Basic Qualifications: - Typically, BS in a technical discipline, such as Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Computer), Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields, or similar fields and a minimum of 10 years related Space Systems experience; Master's degree and 8 years' experience; or a PhD and 5 years' relevant experience. - Active US DoD SECRET Clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI - Experience in team leadership - Familiarity with Department of Defense military missions - Prior experience working with or on a Headquarters staff - Strong system-of-systems engineering experience across weapon systems and mission sets - Prior experience with US Department of Defense systems of systems integration - Effective and influential oral communications skills - Strong written communications skills - This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
