Job Description
As part of the Liquid Propulsion Center within the ArianeGroup, the Mechanical Design Office in Ottobrunn is responsible to set up and manage the physical design definition of combustion devices components, valves and turbine parts, as well as to perform the physical design of associated manufacturing and testing jigs & tools.
In your role, you will contribute to the development of thrust chambers for next generation liquid proplulsion engines. You will be part of an interdisciplinary project team and will support the component development and technology / process maturation by producing detailed definitions for thrust chamber parts, test articles and associated jigs & tools.
You will have the following responsibilities:
* To elaborate design concepts in co-engineering mode with interfacing engineering and manufacturing teams;
* To produce and validate 3D CAD definition and manufacturing drawings and manage the engineering bill-of-material;
* To perform simple calculations (preliminary sizing) and geometric analyses (e.g. stack-up) in order to mature the design;
* To support production teams, assess production non-conformities and implement design changes
* To contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methods, with focus on agile development.
Qualifications
You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:
* Masters in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering;
* At least 3 years design experience in Aerospace;
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes (especially machining, welding, ALM);
* Experience in geometric product specification (ISO GPS) and drawing;
* IT skills:
o knowledge of detailed functions Catia V5
o knowledge of detailed functions PLM (Siemens TeamCenter, SAP)
o knowledge of collaborative tools (Confluence, JIRA)
o knowledge of detailed functions MS-Office
* Strong communication skills to ensure the flow of information
* Resilience with organizational skills and the ability to integrate into a team a high degree of responsibility;
* Fluency in English is mandatory and business fluent level of German is needed.
