Our Website serves an average of 1.5 million visitors monthly across DACH, BENELUX, and FR, with plans for further international expansion. In this key role, you’ll shape the technical vision and strategy for our Web shop, aligning it with business goals to deliver a seamless and engaging customer experience. You’ll prioritize initiatives that address platform scalability, performance optimization, and feature innovation, while ensuring the team stays focused, effective, and maintains clear, open communication with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will excel at balancing strategic planning with technical expertise, creating a robust technical roadmap that supports both short term needs and long term growth. Additionally, the role involves optimizing team performance, driving process improvements, and ensuring the Website consistently delivers exceptional user experiences. This is where we need your support: The Head of Tech will primarily be responsible for strategic alignment, stakeholder management, process optimization, and ensuring transparency across the organization. They will create and manage the overall technical strategy, set priorities, and focus on how the team’s work supports larger business ambitions. Technical Vision and Strategy: Develop and articulate a cohesive vision for the Web platform that aligns with business objectives and enhances customer engagement. Narrative Crafting: Develop a cohesive narrative around the team's work, direction, and value, ensuring all stakeholders understand the impact of technical initiatives on the business. Prioritization and Roadmapping : Set clear, achievable priorities for the team and create robust technical roadmaps that encompass both technical initiatives and improvements to customer experience. Stakeholder Management: Manage internal stakeholders through transparent communication, ensuring a shared understanding of priorities, progress, and outcomes. Foster Collaboration: Address collaboration challenges within the team and across departments, creating clear processes to improve efficiency and teamwork. Team Management: Organize and staff the team effectively to balance workload, limit work in progress, and ensure a focus on high impact initiatives. You have the following experience: Experience : A minimum of 7 years in technical leadership roles within Web focused environments, with proven expertise in e-commerce or customer-centric organizations. Candidates should have led teams of 10–15 members, managing multiple squads and overseeing diverse domains such as front-end development, integrations, core platform architecture, and feature development. Leadership Skills : Experienced in managing and developing high performing technical teams, with a track record of improving productivity and engagement. Experience with recruiting, mentoring, and performance management is also required. Customer Focus: A demonstrated commitment to customer focused solutions, ensuring that technical decisions enhance the overall user experience and drive engagement. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop, implement, and advocate for technical strategies that drive business priorities and support overarching company goals Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Technical Proficiency: Deep technical understanding of Web technologies, with the ability to dive deep into complex technical issues to guide strategic decisions.
