ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Berlin. This role will primarily focus on general ledger accounting, revenue recognition under HGB and IFRS 15, and financial reporting. We are looking for a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within the Finance team. ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL: General Ledger Accounting: Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Revenue Recognition: Oversee and manage the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with HGB and IFRS 15 standards Prepare and review revenue recognition entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness Monitor and analyze revenue transactions to identify and resolve any discrepancies Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with HGB and IFRS standards in all financial reporting Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support financial planning and decision-making Occasional Support for AP and AR: Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Finance Team to support overall financial operations Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during audits Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as required, spanning from accounting, over process, to FP&A topics WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required CPA or equivalent certification is a plus Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS 15 standards Experience in a SaaS or technology company is a plus Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Datev and Quickbooks is a plus) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in English is required; German is a plus WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: Learning budget and LinkedIn Learning 30 vacation days Remote-work abroad up to 90 days In-house German language courses Discounted Urban Sports Club membership and BVG ticket Work-Dog-Balance, your best friend is more than welcome Mental health support with Nilo.health WHY YOU SHOULD WORK FOR US: The right attitude : modern methods and a diverse, creative workspace with an open and international culture Everyone for the product: Together we create a flexible, highly scalable product with state-of-the-art technologies.
