The Deo group, in close collaboration with the Prevedel group, is seeking a post-doctoral fellow with a strong background in synthetic chemistry to join a highly interdisciplinary collaborative project funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. The post-doctoral fellow will primarily synthesize and characterize new fluorophores, and is expected to work in close collaboration with other groups to test and characterize them in microscopy assays. Your role Design and synthesis of organic fluorophores. Evaluation of their performance in vitro using spectroscopic studies. Collaboration with physicists and biologists for implementation in novel imaging systems. Dissemination of results in publications and presentations. You have A Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry. Excellent experimental skills in multi-step organic synthesis. Experience with UV-Vis/fluorescence spectroscopy. The capacity to work independently and think creatively, excellent time management and organization skills. A strong interest in biological applications and collaborative interdisciplinary work. Fluency in English (written and oral) and excellent communication skills are required. You may also have Experience with microscopy and biological samples handling.
