The Indirect Tax Specialist (m/f/d) will comprise a challenging breadth of Indirect tax work. This position will work closely with the business, by providing indirect tax advice on matters throughout the region. Reporting to the senior director tax planning & strategy, the indirect tax specialist will be a key member of the global tax strategy team. Location: Schaffhausen, Switzerland, Herford in Germany or Weilheim in Germany. Tasks and responsibilities: Managing the VAT Compliance Managing intercompany interactions in regard to VAT Coordinating VAT compliance and ensuring efficiency of VAT tax audits Ensuring VAT efficiency of supply chain management and working closely with operations and logistics group Taking a proactive approach to VAT planning and delivering VAT advice to various business groups Engaging with the heads of finance, sales, legal, US tax departments, logistics, global and business process owners, IT, to help identify and mitigate potential indirect tax risks Developing a coherent and proactive indirect tax strategy to effectively manage and identify VAT risks, also ensuring the business maintain up-to-date VAT expertise. Act as a “center of Excellence” within Xylem for indirect tax issues, so the various finance teams will reach out to this person in case of complicated VAT/indirect tax matters for technical assistance and will update and educate the various finance teams on developments in the indirect tax issues. Ensure VAT rules/documentation are incorporated into Xylem’s procedures Maintain strong relationship with Growth Centers and interface with outside tax consultants (public accounting and legal tax counsel) and other professional associates in the exchange of tax information. Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities: 4 years Tax Indirect Tax experience. Preferred experience includes having industry experience in manufacturing, distributions and customs. Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related field or equivalent ideally in combination with a tax degree/certification Experience with European statutory and GAAP (IFRS) reporting as well as VAT reporting standards, Including FAS 5, among others Experience in a complex, US multinational environment Business fluent English, German would be great, additional languages nice to have Interessiert?
