Opportunity:
The candidate will join Cerence's Modeling team, which delivers advancedNLU and GenAI models as core components for the main Cerenceproducts. This is an international, dynamic team that leveragesinnovative AI technologies to enable our customers to set up effective and attractive assistant systems. The coordination role offers a broad perspective, acting as a bridge to ensure the best usage of the product incustomer projects and to leverage concrete project needs to guide product development.
Daily Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Act as the AI modeling representative for the customers throughout the projects' lifetime, advising on the best usage of models within the system framework.
2. Cooperate with the management team to set up a general plan for model and language deliveries for specific customers and manage the technical plan.
3. Act as the entry point for project teams to help them understand AI model specifications, guide integration, identify open points, and forward them to the technical owner.
4. Perform detailed analysis of customer requirements for AI model recognition in assigned projects, deeply clarifying unspecified parts.
5. Translate missing feature requests into workable tickets detailing requirements, to be processed by technical design, advise on design questions, and ensure a smooth integration of new features into existing specifications.
6. Maintain documentation of project scope, to be used as input for development, integration, and testing.
7. Interface with technical management and developers to steer the development of new features; monitor actual coverage and accuracy to verify adherence to project needs.
8. Cooperate with QA and development teams to handle bug fixing and reporting.
9. Contribute to the development of procedures aimed at optimizing and simplifying the activities of model development.
10. Support the sales department in analyzing raw customer requirements for new projects, to assess the coverage of requested features in current AI models.
Requirements:
11. Education: Master University degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, Information technology or a comparable field.
12. Number of years of work Experience: 3 or more
13. Good oral and written knowledge of the English language.
14. Background in AI concepts and technology.
15. Good IT familiarity (usage of MS Office apps, Jira, Confluence, version control, etc.).
16. Usage of Linux command line to do basic tasks and run scripts.
17. Team player, good listener and communicator, customer focused.
18. Ability to work independently, but always as part of the Models team.
19. Positive "can-do" attitude, well organized, focusing on achieving results cost-effectively.
20. Self-learner, with sense of initiative, and perseverance to deliver high quality work.
Other useful skills:
21. Knowledge of code development: programming, scripting, REST APIs, etc.
22. Experience in prompt engineering, concrete GenAI usage and LLM tooling
23. Advanced user of Windows/Office and Linux platforms, Power BI.
24. Knowledge of German and other languages.
25. Background in speech technology or language processing.
26. Computational linguistics knowledge.
