To further strengthen our Innovation and Development team at our Greifswald-Riems location, we are seeking a motivated and talented new colleague (m/f/d) to join us as: Project & Team Leader R&D; (m/f/d) at Riems Innovation Center full time / unlimited With the following responsibilities: Drive Innovation in Bacterial Vaccines: - Identify and evaluate innovative solutions through ideation and conceptual design. - Propose and initiate research projects to enrich Ceva's innovation pipeline with cutting-edge bacterial vaccine candidates. Stay at the Forefront of Science: - Build and maintain a robust network of external experts and scientists. - Monitor scientific advancements, emerging trends, vaccine classes, antigens, adjuvants, and new technologies in bacterial vaccine development. Lead and Execute Complex Projects: - Manage and deliver multi-year, high-impact projects, ensuring agile proof-of-concept development for new opportunities. - Oversee candidate and method development, validation, and transfer, alongside laboratory services. - Take full responsibility for project management, including planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and reporting to stakeholders and governance bodies. Oversee Clinical Studies: - Serve as a principal investigator or monitor for clinical studies, ensuring meticulous planning, execution, and reporting of results. Ensure Quality and Regulatory Compliance: - Guide the development of processes and analytical methods in alignment with the latest scientific knowledge, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead and Develop Teams: - Lead a laboratory team, fostering both personal and professional growth. - Provide lateral leadership to cross-functional core team members, ensuring collaboration and effective project execution. Your qualifications: Educational Background and Experience: - Hold a PhD in life sciences, veterinary medicine, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience in bio/vaccine research and development. Scientific Expertise: - Possess deep knowledge in microbiology, bacteriology, biotechnology, and analytical methods, with a strong curiosity for experimental applications in vaccine development. - Experience in biotechnology, particularly in fermentation processes and the culture of intracellular bacteria, is highly advantageous. Leadership and Project Management: - Demonstrated success in project management and more than 5 years of experience in people management, showcasing strong leadership capabilities. Key Competencies: - Exhibit exceptional skills in multidisciplinary collaboration, analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. - Strong integrity, teamwork, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. Language Proficiency: - Proficient in English, with knowledge of German or a willingness to learn.
