The Job
Position: Finance & HR Manager (w/m/d)
About the role: The Finance & HR Manager (f/m/d) is a key executive for the German branch and plays a central role in the internal management team.
This position is responsible for overseeing all financial, HR and payroll for the German branch. In addition, the position includes line management of the finance and HR teams and ensures alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Customer: Our client is a satellite and radio communications service provider that provides secure and high-quality voice and data services worldwide, regardless of time and place. He also delivers tailor-made system solutions tailored to specific customer needs.
The company operates in several countries, including several European countries, Singapore and the USA, and employs about 250 people worldwide.
Industry: SatCom, Shipping
Location: Hamburg, Germany + up to 6 days/month remote
Tasks:
Financial management at the end of the month:
- Full balance sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis.
- Posting of recurring standard and ad-hoc journals.
- Overseeing the inflows and outflows of fixed assets, including backup documentation.
- Handling of depreciation processes as a backup.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including comments.
- Manage Oracle data in collaboration with the senior accountant.
- Conducting intra-group reconciliations and coordination with the senior accountant.
- Maintaining a mindset of continuous improvement to avoid surprises.
- Working with the Group's finance department to ensure compliance with the Group's GAAP requirements and to support them as needed.
- Carrying out project analyses and coordination.
Year-end financial management:
- Performing all month-end tasks with additional tasks.
- Preparation of audit documents and contact with auditors.
Budgeting:
- Proactively assisting management in creating accurate, complete, and relevant budgets.
- Prepare reports on deviations from the budget and explain the corresponding effects.
Tax and regulatory compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all legal reporting, filing and payment requirements for the German business unit.
Finanzmanagement:
- Forward-looking planning of cash flow requirements, whereby management is comprehensively informed and prepared.
Personalmanagement:
- Lead, develop and manage the performance of the finance and HR team.
- You will be a key member of the senior management team in Germany, helping to guide, encourage and support employees to comply with agreed processes and support the activities of the company and the Group.
Policies and procedures:
- Ensuring compliance with existing policies.
- Review and recommend improvements to policies and procedures and implement the changes as needed.
Additional responsibilities:
- Management of payroll and HR activities with the support of the Group Human Resources Department.
- Supervision of the facilities and insurance for the German office.
Dimensions:
- Supervision of all financial areas for the German business unit.
Supervision:
- Led a team of 2 finance staff and 1 payroll accountant/HR officer.
Reporting line:
- Reports directly to the CFO.
Making decisions:
- With strong business acumen and common sense, you will be able to solve any problems that arise, take corrective action if necessary, and involve the relevant departments inside and outside the company.
Important contacts:
- Regular interaction with all levels within the company, the parent company and with third parties, including tax authorities, VAT authorities, banks, auditors and professional advisors.
The Profile
Experience:
- Qualified accountant.
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency and consolidations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Oracle FCCS & Dynamics NAV or Business Central is an advantage.
-Very good knowledge of MS Excel is essential.
- Fluent in German and good knowledge of Business English.
