Role / Job Description
The Risk Management Department is the second line of defense in its role of monitoring and assessing business practices as related to the risk appetite framework for SMBC. Within the department, you will primarily support the Chief Risk Officer in maintaining second line oversight of the risk management function. Additionally, you will support internal control processes, including independent review, and assist in ensuring the firm is in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This work will require you to have extensive engagement across different functions within the Firm. In addition, you will also be a key participant in regulatory exams and inquiries.
You will (dis)cover all types of risks, such as Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Climate Risk, Derivatives Risk.
Main purpose
Support the Chief Risk Officer and the Risk Management team in daily tasks
Contribute to develop projects in line with ECB, EBA and CSSF expectations.
Main responsibilities
* Manage and monitor risks on a daily basis by analyzing a combination of automated reports as well as manual reports such as credit, operational and market risk;
* Calculate and monitor collateral on a daily basis based on the development of the forex market;
* Ensure the Bank's daily second level control by analyzing reports of internal controls related to all operations of the Bank;
* Assist in the production of periodical risk reports such as operational risk report, annual risk report and other internal reports;
Education, experiences and competencies
* Ability to work collaboratively with internal risk management colleagues
* Demonstrates sound judgement in handling complex and highly confidential matters with integrity and professionalism
* Good written and oral communications skills; presentation skills
* Bachelor’s or preferably Master’s degree in Economics, Finance
* Advance level in English
