Aufgaben
* Biomass Handling and Pretreatment: Manage tasks such as packaging, labeling, drying, grinding, and sieving various biomasses, including urban or agricultural plant residues, biogas residues, and sewage sludges.
* Hydrothermal Humification Assistance: Support the synthesis of artificial humic substances using high-pressure reactors under the guidance of research staff.
* Analytical Determinations: Assist in analytical methods for determination of artificial humic substances, including ash determination, base-acid separation, and UV-Vis quantification. Tasks involve slurry separation by centrifugation, dry matter content determination, solution preparation, and absorbance measurement.
* Soil Application Support: Prepare soil for pot experiments, determine soil organic matter content via thermogravimetric methods, and assess soil water holding capacity.
* Laboratory Support: Prepare chemical solutions and reagents, sample materials, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Collect experimental data, record observations, and assist in data analysis using software such as Excel and Origin.
Qualifikation
* Educational Background: Current student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
* Laboratory and Technical Skills: Hands-on laboratory experience, familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and procedures, including weighing, pipetting, solution preparation, filtering, and centrifugation.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to work carefully and accurately, maintaining high standards in experiment execution and documentation.
* Motivation and Enthusiasm: Eagerness to learn and contribute to innovative research in sustainable technology.
* Additional Qualification: Possession of a driver’s license is preferable to assist with logistics in outdoor (field) experiments.
