Your role and responsibilities
The Planning & Fulfillment Specialist for Business Line Energy Distribution will drive supply chain efficiency and enhance ABB's delivery performance across the Smart Buildings operations. This role focuses on optimizing on-time delivery and lead times, ensuring a flexible and effective supply chain setup, and leading Supply Planning within ABB's Integrated Business Planning (IBP) framework, including Anaplan deployment. The specialist will work cross-functionally with factories, regional and local distribution centers, and front-end sales teams to improve process maturity, standardization, and KPI governance. They will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing networking capital, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency, while also supporting talent development through training and coaching. This role is essential for strengthening ABB's supply chain capabilities, ensuring seamless collaboration between key business functions, and driving continuous improvement in planning and fulfillment processes to support business growth and operational excellence. In this position, you will be reporting to the Planning & Fulfillment Manager Energy Distribution. Location: global, preferred in a location of ED Energy Distribution (sample countries: Bulgaria Stryama, Italy Santa Palomba, Germany, Sasbach or Heidelberg,...) You will be mainly accountable for: • Optimize Supply Chain Performance: Develop and implement strategies to improve on-time delivery, lead times, and networking capital (Days Inventory on Hand, Inventory Health), ensuring an efficient end-to-end supply chain for both internal and external customers. • Lead Supply Planning & Tool Deployment: Oversee the Supply Planning process and drive the implementation of Anaplan and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) within the Energy Distribution Business Line and Smart Buildings Division to enhance forecasting and decision-making. • Drive Cross-Functional Projects & Best Practices: Lead or coordinate cross-unit and cross-functional initiatives to optimize planning, fulfillment, and networking capital efficiency, while also establishing and sharing best practices, process benchmarking, and standardization guidelines. • Continuous Improvement & Digital Integration: Foster a KAIZEN/Lean Six Sigma mindset, perform root cause analyses, and drive process improvements by leveraging ERP systems, digital tools, and IS solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency. • Coaching & Talent Development: Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing training, mentoring, and coaching to Planning & Fulfillment Managers, Material Planners, and Operations Planners, ensuring the development of key competencies and capabilities.
Qualifications for the role
* Educational Background & Experience: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in SCM or Planning & Fulfillment.
* Technical & Process Expertise: Strong knowledge in Inventory & Supply Management, Disposition, Planning & Scheduling, with hands-on experience in SAP (WM, PP, MM), Forecast Tools (i.e. Jda, Anaplan,..), Power BI, and Microsoft 360.
* Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead across teams and functions, even without formal authority, with strong communication and facilitation skills.
* Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Customer-focused, action-oriented, and systematic approach to process improvement, standardization, and deployment, with digital awareness and analytical skills.
* Continuous Improvement & Global Perspective: Experience in Project Management, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-cultural environment. Fluency in English required
